Chelsea have had their fair share of transfer rumours this summer, with Premier League stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Raphinha among the players linked with moving to Stamford Bridge. If the latest transfer rumours are to be believed, they will have Arsenal fans raging, with Chelsea reportedly in discussions with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Aubameyang was previously captain of Chelsea's London rivals, before being stripped of the captaincy and acrimoniously leaving North London for Barcelona in this year's January transfer window.
If he were to return to the English capital with one of Arsenal's biggest rivals, we imagine it wouldn't go down well.
Chelsea transfers: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang latest big name linked with club
The latest star to be rumoured to move to Stamford Bridge this summer is Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Reputed transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano shared the rumours of Chelsea's interest in Aubameyang on Wednesday evening, stating that discussions between the club and the Gabonese forward have already begun.
Chelsea are now considering Pierre Emerick Aubameyang as potential new striker. Discussions have already started on player side, still no bid to Barcelona. 🚨🔵 #CFC

It would certainly be an unexpected move, and one likely to rile up Arsenal fans.
Aubameyang plied his trade for the Gunners in North London for four years from 2018 to 2022, scoring both goals and captaining the side in their 2020 FA Cup final win over Chelsea.
He also shared the 2018-19 Premier League Golden Boot with Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Sadio Mané, proving that he knows how to score goals at the highest level in England.

Chelsea are desperate to add another striker to their lineup after underwhelming big-money moves for Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku fell flat in recent years.
Though Werner has impressed in flashes in open play, his goalscoring has failed to deliver, while Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan after an extraordinary falling out with the club.
They have seen limited success with big name signings up front in the past decade, with Fernando Torres, Gonzalo Higuain, Radamel Falcao, and Alexandre Pato all struggling to make an impact during their time in blue.
Aubameyang's proven track record in the Premier League will have Chelsea fans confident this move could work out differently, and his goalscoring numbers have picked up again since joining Barcelona. He scored 13 goals in his 23 games for the club last season, including 11 in 17 La Liga games.
His attitude may cause issues, however, with doubts raised by his fallout with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta (showcased in the trailer for Arsenal: All or Nothing).
It seems as though a potential move for the former Arsenal skipper is still in the early phase of negotiations, but it would be a sensational one if it came together.
