At Least One Platini Isn't Trying To Ruin Football

Platini scored the opener for Cape Verde against Morocco in the African Cup of Nations. Morocco equalised late to leave both teams in contention for qualification

It's Cape Verde's first ever appearance in the Cup of Nations final tournament and today's one all draw means that a win on Sunday against Angola will see them through to the knockout stages. South Africa play Morocco in the other tie in the group. South Africa only require a draw to ensure qualification.  With quality finishes like this, who is backing against them?

Platini, with the slightly less cool real name of Luís Carlos Almada Soares, is one of a host of players that, at least, sound like they should be world class in the Cape Verde squad.
