Aston Villa assistant manager Ray Wilkins has told Jack Grealish he must "live like a monk" in order to achieve his potential.
Tim Sherwood has also told Grealish to "knuckle down" after photos emerged of the 19-year-old passed out in the street on a holiday in Tenerife earlier this summer.
Villa are currently in Portugal on their preseason tour and the warnings come after Grealish had his breakthrough season in the Premier League, and starred in their FA Cup semi-final defeat of Liverpool.
Villa boss Sherwood said:
The only way you can be a professional footballer is to graft your balls off. If you have that natural talent that Jack has – at 19, he can be fitter than 95 per cent of midfield players – he is a massive asset.
He continued:
I’m not ready to write him off! He’s just got to get back in the good books.
Grealish's international future is still up in the air, but clearly Ray Wilkins thinks that nothing would do him better than a regular stint in Sunday morning mass.
