Tim Sherwood is irreplaceable in the hearts and minds of all who enjoyed seeing a character from Eastenders manage a Premier League team as well as those who's job it is to produce official club gillets for the team he manages, but today he has officially been replaced by Aston Villa.
Former Lyon manager Rémi Garde will take the reigns at Villa, having left the French club due to family reasons in 2014. He has a tough task ahead of him to get his new side out of the relegation zone, and hopefully his official announcement on twitter isn't a sign of things to come as a mistake has already been made in the spelling of his name, and a hashtag has been formed around said incorrect name:

As expected, twitter was on it straight away:

I know he’s injured, but this is still a pretty huge get by Aston Villa. #WelcomeRemy pic.twitter.com/LJJljRZddZ

In more serious news, the official statement on the club website includes a quote from the man himself and he sounds excited to get started.
It is an unbelievable honour to be the manager of such an illustrious football club.
I've had extremely positive meetings with both the owner, Randy Lerner, and Chief Executive Tom Fox. They have ambitious plans for the Club and I'm excited that they have turned to me to help them realise them.
Obviously we have a difficult task in front of us but I'm looking forward to the challenge with the support of everyone who loves Aston Villa.
Garde earned a reputation as one of the more exciting young coaches in Europe during his time at Lyon, which was his first job in management, so it will be interesting to see if he can have an immediate impact at Villa.
