He hasn't even been appointed yet but that didn't stop Villa captain Ron Vlaar commenting on the possibility of Roy Keane becoming Paul Lambert's assistant.

Vlaar seems hugely positive about the prospect and said ‘I don't know him as a person, I know him as a player. He has a lot of fighting spirit, and I think that would be really good for us.'

He went on to try describe Keane 'He can do more than that. He’s a very strong character. On the pitch he could be absolutely… what's the word?' To which 'Like an animal?' was suggested.

‘Yes - he wants to win and he shows that to his team-mates. I think everybody has a lot of respect for him and I look forward to it.’

So it would seem this Keane to Villa deal must be really on? I can't see why Vlaar would be drawn to comment otherwise.
