There have been many stars of the 2010 World Cup.

The Vuvuzela

Poetic Justice

Wesley Sneijder

The German Team

and most of all

Larissa Riquelme, the Paraguayan fan who brought tears to the eyes of every football fan across the world, tears of joy or jealousy, there were litres upon litres shed across the footballing nations of the world.

In one foul swoop Paraguay's support doubled if not more when Larissa promised to run through the streets of the nations capital if her team brought home the trophy. Unfortunately things didn't pan out as everyone hoped and it seemed the sight of Larissa running in all her glory through Asuncion(which translates as The Assumption of Mary) would remain locked in dreamland. FEAR NOT! Larissa has come through, she has changed her mind.

The Metro reports

Riquelme has confirmed she'll go ahead with her promise - even though her countrymen fell a couple of wins short of the target she'd set them. It will be a present to all of the players, and for all the people in Paraguay to enjoy,' she said.

'They tried as hard as possible and gave it their all on the field.'

She is arguably the biggest star of the World Cup and has even got an obligatory youtube video in her honour with the usual hardcore soundtrack.
