Assou-Ekotto doesn't really like football, he has talked about it on numerous occasions and while many fail to grasp it, it's clear that Benoit is just another kid who took his calculator to the playground and dreamed of doing audits and financial reports. Instead he ended up playing for Harry Redknapp at Spurs, a man not known for his book balancing(that was before the Samba deal)
The latest and greatest from Assout-Ekotto is revealed in this here video, where he admits that he has no idea who his new Spurs teammate Paulinho is.. nor did he have a clue who Van Der Vaart was when he met him first. It is for this and many more reasons that he has a whole section entitled "Frankness" on wikipedia. Hopefully he enjoyed his summer holidays and is not dreading the first day of the season too much, poor old chap.
