Manchester United's first-half clash with PSG could have taken a dramatic turn had referee Daniele Orsato not looked favourably on Ashley Young's challenge on Angel Di Maria.
Young was booked early in the game for a foul on French striker Kylian Mbappé. Soon after, Di Maria coming storming down that left wing and Young decided to shoulder barge the winger who cannoned down the iconic Old Trafford pitch slopes and into the railings.
Speaking on RTE Sport, former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann felt the Englishman should have been sent off: "I think he should have gone. I think he should have gone, the ball is going out of play."

Over on Virgin Media Sport, Kevin Kilbane was similarly critical of the "barge." He explained, "if that is in the middle of the pitch, it is a foul. But because it is on the side of the pitch defenders are able to get away with it."
Speaking on BT Sport, Steve McManaman also felt it was an unnecessary foul. "he doesn't need to do that! To be very honest, he does not need to do that. He is not catching the ball."
