A clip of Ashley Young went viral in the hours after Manchester United's win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, and this time there was no bird-poo involved at all.
30 minutes into the game a coming together between Young and Alli saw the two come head-to-head before both walked away while throwing verbal barbs at the other player.
Twitter's lip-reading detectives quickly - and accurately it seems - determined that Young had told Alli - 11 years his junior - not to talk to him until he had 'won the Prem', but now Manchester Evening News believe they have uncovered what Alli said that prompted such a response.
The verbals between Young and Alli continued after referee Jon Moss attempted to defuse the situation and M.E.N. Sport understands Alli informed the 32-year-old he should 'retire with a zimmer frame'. Young, who has won the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League with United, is believed to have responded by advising Alli not to speak to him so disrespectfully until he has won something.
Young ended the bickering by telling Alli: "Let me know when you win the Prem." The verbals are also understood to have continued in the tunnel.
Young's performance saw calls for Gareth Southgate to include the winger-turned-fullback in his England squads from The Times' chief football writer Henry Winter as well as others, so seemingly there is no need for the zimmer frame just yet.
The former Watford and Aston Villa man had the last laugh on social media as he celebrated the three points and left a little message in there for Dele Alli as well.
