Ashley Cole has completed a move to Derby County to play under his former England and Chelsea team-mate Frank Lampard.
The 38-year-old has been without a club since leaving MLS side LA Galaxy last November. He has signed on a short-term six-month contract as Derby look to finish strong in their search for a play-offs spot.
Speaking prior to confirmation of the deal, Lampard confirmed he is still in contact with Cole and was hoping to rely on his experience.
He is a great pro and a great lad. We are looking at it. I speak to Ash all the time. We are good friends. I know he is very fit, fresh and wants to continue to play so he comes into my thoughts because I know the influence he would have.
