News broke earlier today that Juventus and Chile star Arturo Vidal had crashed his Ferrari and was charged with driving under the influence late on Tuesday night.
It has since emerged that Vidal will not be removed from Chile's Copa America squad, which has caused quite a stir on social media, but footage that was recorded in the moments after police arrived at the crash scene is causing far more of a reaction, as Vidal can clearly be heard having a heated debate with the arresting officer.
You won't know what is going on from that video unless you are fluent in Spanish, but thankfully a reddit user by the name of clemenzzzz has provided a translation of the clip:
Vidal: ¿Cómo voy a venir manejando esa huea, cómo soy tan tonto, no pensai?
Police: Si la cagó la cagó, caballero.
Vidal: ¿Cómo, yo la cagué? Deja de hablar hueas.
[...]
Vidal: ¿Me vas a esposar a mí?
Police: No ponga las cosas más difíciles
Vidal: Espósame, pero te vas a cagar a todo Chile…Translation:
Vidal: How would I be driving this shit, how could I be so stupid, don't you think?
Police: Yes you fucked up sir, you fucked up.
Vidal: What, I fucked up? Stop talking bullshit.
[...]
Vidal: Are you going to handcuff me?
Police: Don't make things harder than they are...
Vidal: You can handcuff me, but you'll fuck Chile...
"You can handcuff me, but you'll fuck Chile"
Wow.
To be fair, he does have a bit of a point.. No, in all seriousness he is the one who would be "fucking Chile" by driving under the influence, if indeed he is convicted, and he is being seriously cheeky by talking to a South American policeman like that, he must feel untouchable.
He was one step away from saying "I AM CHILE!" which is the only way this video could have been topped.
And you thought professional footballers didn't respect referees?
