Former Celtic teammates Artur Boruc and Aiden McGeady "hated each other" according to Barry Robson.

Speaking on Si Ferry's Open Goal podcast, Robson - who played with the pair for two seasons at Celtic - revealed that the Polish international goalkeeper and the Ireland international were one day involved in a fight at the training ground.

“Aiden and Artur didn’t like each other – they hated each other," said Robson regarding the two who were at Celtic together for five seasons.

One day, we were out in the training pitch doing shooting. Artur wouldn’t dive for Aiden’s shots - he wouldn’t dive!

I was standing in training one day and I see big Artur running right by me and I’m thinking, ‘Where is he going?’

He came running by me and tried to lamp Aiden! But he’s missed him and he’s rolled on the floor and jumped up. So we took them in, and [Gordon] Strachan’s laughing.

So we get them back in the changing room, just sitting reading the paper. I sat next to Aiden and big Artur came walking over to him and just went, dunt (punched him)!

Aiden is sitting there raging, I’ve broke it up. Artur’s gone to get a shower and Aiden’s sitting there burning.

He goes to the shower and he tries to kick him, he slips and falls and hits his head!

Big Artur’s like, ‘What you doing?’ and starts kicking him and we were pulling them off!

Senior players in the dressing room, including Robson, Stephen McManus and Gary Caldwell, decided they needed to tell manager Gordon Strachan.

Robson said it was well-known that Strachan didn't like McGeady.

“We all walked in and Gordon’s sitting there as usual. We said, ‘There has been a problem with Artur and Aiden’.

“And he went, ‘Aye I thought there might have been. I hope he knocked him out!’

On Robson's first day at the club, he was involved in a minor row with McGeady. Strachan's dislike of the winger also shone through that day.

"I remember McGeady just went [past me] with his feet and I just clattered him right away. I just went, right here you go, bang, have that. He jumps up and says 'What the fuck are you doing?'

"That was the end of it but I made my mark. I remember Gordon Strachan came walking over, 'Make sure you fuckin' do that to him every day!'"
