A relationship that has become increasingly strained in recent years, Arsenal's longest-serving manager and it's record goalscorer aren't getting on very well.
Having previously taken exception with comments Thierry Henry made while working as a pundit for Sky Sports, Arsene Wenger didn't appreciate his fellow Frenchman's insinuations about morale within the Arsenal dressing-room.
After querying the mood among Arsenal's players after their 3-2 against Crystal Palace, Thierry Henry lamented the apparent lack of enthusiasm for Alexis Sanchez's brace of goals amongst his teammates:
There is a division. He is asking them to come [and celebrate].
[They are] not here for Alexis Sanchez, you're here for Arsenal. Arsenal scored. Go and celebrate. Whoever does it, we don't care about that, go and celebrate with your team-mate.
Maybe we are reading too much into it but I noticed it. Sanchez made me notice it. It was like he thought he was alone.
With Sanchez's future in North London a hotly-debated topic since Manchester City made noises about signing the Chilean, Henry's comments have not been welcomed by Wenger.
Speaking in the wake of Arsenal's unfortunate 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion, Wenger was curious whether such pundits could be expected "to talk, to talk, to talk and only say things that are true and intelligent."
Suggesting that he doesn't "listen to what Henry and other people says" about his Arsenal side, there is no doubt that the Sky pundit got under Wenger's skin with his suggestions.
Not the first time that Henry has publicly spoken out against Arsenal and Wenger in his role as a Sky pundit, it is clear that things are not as they once were for the two Arsenal legends.
