He won't be working with Jack Wilshere at Arsenal, following the club's decision not to renew the midfielder's contract. It had been anticipated that Wilshere would merely drop down the Premier League, having previously spent a bit of time on loan at Bournemouth. Crystal Palace and Wolves have been mentioned as potential suitors for Wilshere. Reports in Turkey, however, suggest that Wilshere may be taking his leave of English football altogether.
Turkish media have spotted Wilshere in Istanbul, amid rumoured interest from Besiktas and Fenerbache.
Arsenal, meanwhile, seem to moving on swiftly from Wilshere, with The Telegraph reporting that they are on the verge of signing Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira.
Torreira, who has impressed at the World Cup thus far, is contracted to Sampdoria and is expected to cost in the region of £27 million. The paper also report that Arsenal are keen to tie down Aaron Ramsey's future, with contract talks with the Welshman progressing well. Emery's first-choice central midfield next season is expected to feature Ramsey, Granit Xhaka and Torreiro, all going well.
Arsenal have already added right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner and goalkeeper Bernd Leno, while the signing of centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund has been agreed and is expected to be announced soon.
