With last night's defeat to Atletico Madrid confirming that Arsene Wenger's spell at Arsenal will end not with a bang but a whimper, we want to take you back to the club's last European success.

Difficult as it is to believe in light of the recent adulation for the Frenchman, Arsenal were not all that doomed and depraved before 1996.

Why, in 1994, exactly 24 years ago to the day, Arsenal overcame Parma 1-0 in the now defunct European Cup Winners' Cup. Playing against the likes of Gianfranco Zola and Faustino Asprilla, it was the club's last (and perhaps only, unless you count the equally defunct Fairs Cup) European success.
