It's happened again.
There can be no doubt that German football clubs are the world leaders in online back-and-forths, with their English counterparts lagging behind running dreadful goal of the month competitions, performing criminal b****rs with players, and producing horrible content rather than engaging with fans.
Last night, young Arsenal cast-off Serge Gnabry scored a hat-trick on his international debut for Germany, albeit against San Marino, and his current club Werder Bremen were quick to point it out to his former employers...

Arsenal, whose Twitter account is a source of embarrassment for many fans, 'hit back' two hours later with one of the tamest rebuttals in recent memory, recalling their 1999/2000 UEFA Cup second leg with the German outfit.

Yes, *16* years ago, in the quarter-finals of European football's second competition, Ray Parlour - of all people - netted three goals to sink Bremen at the Weser-Stadion.
Frankly, if you're dipping that deep into your club's history for a Twitter comeback, you should probably just leave it off. To be fair, some Gunners fans enjoyed the retort, but others... Well...
Still, at least it was nowhere near as bad as Man City's most recent social media disaster.
