Amongst the mammoth amount of sport on TV, we had the second FA Cup semi final as Arsenal went head to head with Manchester City in a match to see who would lose to face Chelsea in the final at the same venue on the 27th of May.
The first half was incredibly drab, with Claudio Bravo's skills, or lack thereof, being the highlight. It didn't take long for the second half to ignite into action though.
Sergio Aguero punished a defensive lapse from the Gunners to go on the counter and finish it off by dinking the ball over Petr Cech.
Some might say that Cech could've done better there, and they are right.
Bravo may have had a dodgy game up until then, but he could do very little about Arsenal's equalizer. Ten minutes after getting the lead, City had lost it. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's brilliant cross was finished with finesse by Nacho Monreal at the back post.
Despite both sides having a number of chances before full time, neither could find a winner. Extra time was called for .
Pep Guardiola whipped off Aguero and must've regretted the decision ten minutes into extra time. An Arsenal corner caused chaos with Danny Welbeck whiffing on a easy chance. Luckily for the winger, Alexis Sanchez was right behind him to finish from inside the six yard box.
That was enough for Arsenal to reach their 20th FA Cup final and their third in four years. Arsene Wenger will now have potentially his last game as Arsenal manager in his ninth FA Cup final.
