The draw for the last 16 of the Europa League has taken place in UEFA's gleaming, antiseptic halls this afternoon, with Arsenal handed a high-profile clash with fellow underachievers AC Milan.
Milan are less a sleeping giant than a comatose one, and will host Wenger's Arsenal at the San Siro in the first leg. The sides last met in Europe in the Champions League in 2012, as Arsenal followed a 4-0 capitulation at the San Siro with a 3-0 win at the Emirates, resulting in the soon-to-be-familiar exit laced with regret.
Elsewhere, Borussia Dortmund have drawn Salzburg, Atletico Madrid have been paired with Lokomotiv Moscow and Marseille face Athletic Bilbao. Celtic's conquerors Zenit St Petersburg find themselves against RB Leipzig.
Here's the draw in full:
Lazio v Dynamo Kiev
RB Leipzig v Zenit St Petersburg
Atletico Madrid v Lokomotiv Moscow
CSKA v Lyon
Marseille v Athletic Bilbao
Sporting Lisbon v Viktoria Plzen
Borussia Dortmund v FC Salzburg
Milan v Arsenal
The last-16 matches will be played on 8 and 15 March, with the competition looking significantly stronger than last year.
