Reports are suggesting that Arsenal are circling in on a potential bid for 20-year-old French striker Elye Wahi.
According to an article from French outlet Foot Mercato, the London club are 'readying a bid' for the Montpellier forward, who scored an impressive 19 goals in Ligue 1 this season, as his side finished in 12th place.
Furthermore, the ever reliable Fabrizio Romano tweeted earlier that Montpellier's president Laurent Nicollin said on French radio that "his agent is in discussion with four or five big clubs. We know that he [Wahi] likes Arsenal a lot".
Wahi has racked three caps for France U21s, along with multiple appearances for younger underage sides, and would be a purchase with his potential in mind, given that he is still relatively unproven and the severe step up from Ligue 1 to the Premier League.
Arsenal will be focusing most of their efforts and monetary weight towards more ready made signings such as Declan Rice, or a more proven striker if they become available, but may want to get in early on Wahi and ahead of any rival clubs.
