Liverpool experienced an impressive start to life under Arne Slot last weekend, with the club hoping to follow up their victory over Ipswich Town with another win over Brentford at Anfield on Sunday.
While their first half performance at Portman Road lacked attacking threat, Liverpool were brilliant after the interval en route to picking up a 2-0 win over the newly promoted side. That uptick in their level of play came on the back of some tactical changes from the manager, who also took off young defender Jarrel Quansah before the start of the second half.
Slot was brutally honest in his assessment of the centre back's performance when speaking after the match, admitting that his inability to win his duels had impacted the team's performance.

Arne Slot Had X-Rated Response To Question About Liverpool Star
Arne Slot is already forging a reputation for his direct responses to questions at Liverpool, something that continued at his latest press conference this morning.
Speaking ahead of the game against Brentford, he was asked about the performance of Ryan Gravenberch in the win over Ipswich. The Dutch midfielder is someone who was a peripheral figure at Anfield last season, although he would impress in their season opener while being deployed in a less familiar holding midfield role.
When asked to sum up the midfielder's performance, Slot would produce an x-rated response.
"If all the other 10 players would've played shit at Ipswich then maybe Ryan wouldn't have been able to have a good game." 😂 pic.twitter.com/wHUwHChZWY

Like with all of them, it's not about the individual, it's also about what the team around them do for him to play a good game.
If all the players around him were s**t at Ipswich, I don't think Ryan [Gravenberch] would have been able to play a great game.
Pretty honest stuff there.
Ryan Gravenberch is someone who looks set to have a big role at Liverpool this season. The club have so far failed to recruit a high profile holding midfielder for the third consecutive summer, with the 22-year old looking likely to spend quite a bit of time in that position over the coming months.
