Liverpool boss Arne Slot confirms that Trent Alexander-Arnold will miss this Sunday's Caraboa Cup final against Newcastle at Wembley.
The Right back picked up an ankle injury against PSG during the week, and he looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines.
The good new is that Slot believes the Englishman's season is not over yet, as many feared that it could rule him out until the summer.

“Trent is indeed not available. He will not be there at the final.
“But he’s still to be assessed for how long it’s going to take. We do expect him back before the end of the season.”
Ibrahima Konate also came off against PSG with an injury, but it doesn't appear to be a serious one, and it is likely that he will feature in Sunday's final.
“We didn’t train yesterday – we had a day off – and the day before was recovery. I expect him to train with us today, but let’s see how it is.

Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton are also all ruled out, meaning that the club currently has no senior right backs available for selection.
Jarell Quansah replaced Trent in the PSG, despite normally being a centre-back, the young England defender is capable of shifting into the right as well.
It is expected that the youngster will start in that position on Sunday, although some fans are fearful as he had to play that role against Newcastle in the league, and many thought he struggled in that game.
“First of all I think Jarell played quite a good game, from what’s been told to me not everyone else is agreeing with me. But if you look back at the game you see that in his one-v-ones he had not many problems.
“If Conor is available he is a similar style to Trent, he tries to attack the goal and wants to make underlaps and overlaps, but Jarell is a different type of player.
“He’s more the way Ben White fills that position, behind the ball, playing the ball through the lines. That makes a difference to if Conor or Trent play there.”
So in conclusion, Trent, Bradley, Gomez and Morton are definitely not available for the final, while Konate is a doubt.
Last season Liverpool beat Chelsea to win the cup and had many more injuries to the team, so it isn't a new situation for the squad.
