Like a typical romantic drama, just when you thought Roy Keane and John Delaney were set to ride off into the sunset together, The Sunday Times, almost as if they were purposely being opportunistic, have dug up the past by revealing that Delaney called Keane a 'fucker' as recently as last June.
They got their hands on a clip of Delaney's speech at the Combined Counties Football League where someone shouted 'Keano' as John took to the stage. The FAI Chief Executive immediately responded with:
'Who said Keano? I hope it was Robbie and not the fucker Roy?'
He went on to apologise for swearing but got cheers from some in the audience. When the Times contacted the CCFL about the incident, their secretary said 'I don't know what you're talking about.'
In fairness to Delaney, he probably meant it as a joke. Seeing as they've moved on it's definitely time we do too.
Later in the speech, The Sunday Times report that Delaney also told a story about putting €2,000 behind the bar for fans in Estonia and that 'It might fucking happen tonight, you never know.'
