It appears Oldham's interest in signing Evans has been boosted by his future father-in-law pledging financial backing to the club should they lose sponsorship as a result of signing the striker.

Earlier this week it seemed like the possibility of Ched Evans continuing his career as a professional footballer was all but non-existant.
After Oldham were told by their sponsors that they would pull their support if the club signed the convicted rapist, BBC's Dan Roan said the chances of him being given a contract were 10%.
So it is surprising to say the least that Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson has tweeted that Oldham have agreed personal terms with the Welshman.

According to Sky News, he is expected to play this weekend when Oldham take on Doncaster at Boundary Park.
