It's been a bad couple of days for Irish midfielders as far as law and order is concerned. Martin O'Neill may be more concerned with the upcoming Euro qualifiers but he certainly won't be happy to hear that Jeff Hendrick is making headlines for the wrong reasons just a day after it emerged that Darron Gibson was charged with a number of offences relating to drink driving.
Hendrick, who was named in O'Neill's 37 provisional man squad yesterday, has been informed that the DPP have instructed that charges be made against him in relation to an alleged assault in Dublin in 2013. The Herald are reporting that, after submitting himself for questioning in relation to the matter earlier this year, the 23 year old will appear before a court in the coming weeks on a charge of violent disorder.
Eight individuals were questioned in relation to the incident. One other man, who will face charges of violent disorder as well as assault, is also due in court over the incident in the coming weeks.
