Reports suggest that Shamrock Rovers are hopeful of acquiring the services of former Ireland international Stephen McPhail.
The 34-year-old's contract with Sheffield Wednesday expires next month, and reports suggest that Hoops manager Trevor Croly has set his sights on a permanent deal for the Fingal native.
It is believed that Rovers attempted to lure ex-UCD man Paul Corry from Hillsborough to Tallaght on a loan deal, but seem to have settled on a bid for 10-times capped McPhail as Corry's first-team prospects have take a turn for the better under new Wednesday interim boss Stuart Gray.
