The general consensus over Angel Di Maria's £44m move to PSG from Manchester United was that the Argentinian pushed through the move because he did not want to live in England any more.
A difficult season on the pitch in terms of injuries and form, and off the pitch in terms of burglars breaking into his home while his wife and child were present, coupled with that Manchester rain that foreign players hate so much, was believed to be the reason for Di Maria's wish to leave the club, but after commenting for the first time since his transfer to Paris, the player himself suggested there was more to it.
Di Maria on leaving MUFC: "It was not only my decision. If I am here, it is because they wanted to sell me. All 3 parties wanted the move."

This statment seems to claim that Manchester United also wanted Di Maria gone, which would tie in with the theory that Louis Van Gaal had grown impatient with Di Maria's poor form and low morale, and actively wanted him sold.
It emerged earlier in the week that PSG had to pay an extra £3m after LVG blew a fuse when a photo of Di Maria with PSG officials in Doha surfaced, so it's clear that the Dutchman gets what he wants, and perhaps he wanted the former Real Madrid man out of his dressing room too.
