14 years after signing his first professional contract with Stoke, Andy Wilkinson was recently released by the club.
According to the Daily Mail, they have now re-signed the player on a week-to-week contract. This is so the 30-year-old can recover from an injury and not lose out financially as he seeks a new team. Stoke also view it as a goodwill gesture given his loyalty.
Wilkinson made just two appearances for Stoke this season, a League Cup game back in August and in a 4-1 loss to Blackburn in the FA Cup.
He fell out of favour under Mark Hughes having previously been a regular under Tony Pulis due to his versatility.
