Andy Reid retired from football on Friday at the age of 34. A persistent groin injury was ultimate reason for the Dubliner having to call it a day.

Reid's career in English football began with Nottingham Forest - it also finished there. In between, he would play for Spurs, Charlton, Sunderland, Sheffield United and Blackpool. He also won 29 caps for Ireland, scoring four times.

Wherever he played, Reid's most noted attributed was a wand-like left boot - one which could open defences with an incisive cross, a pinpoint cross or a searing shot.
