Andy Carroll was never 'a Brendan Rodgers player'. That was the go-to line when Liverpool's most expensive player was promptly shipped out to West Ham not long after Rodgers took over the club back in 2012.
Carroll has never hid the fact that he wasn't best pleased with his treatment by the former Swansea boss and it seems that resentment hasn't gone away. Even before Rodgers was given the boot following the draw with Everton, Carroll was already suggesting the club would benefit from failing to beat their Merseyside rivals.
The West Ham striker was asked for his prediction for the game on Saturday and, with rumours building that Rodgers' head was on the chopping block, Carroll just couldn't resist.
.. @Tea_Beer_LFC It's a win win situation for Liverpool!! 🔴👍

Perhaps a professional approach of biting his tweeting fingers was needed but we're suckers for a petty feud so we're giving Carroll the thumbs up on this one.
