Andy Boyle has joined Scottish Championship side Ross County on loan from Preston for the remainder of the season.
The 27-year-old had also spent the first half of the season on loan. He made 13 appearances while with Scottish Premiership side Dundee.
It had been reported that a return to Dundalk was on the cards for the Ireland international. New Dundalk boss Vinny Perth said that the club would be interested in signing the centre-back.
Boyle joined Preston in January 2017 - the same time as Daryl Horgan also moved to the club - but has struggled to establish himself in the first team.
After making seven starts in his first five months at the club, he made just three in the first half last season. Boyle spent the latter half of last season on loan at Doncaster.
His contract at Preston expires this summer.
Ross County currently sit top of the Scottish Championship, three points clear of Ayr.
