Every now and again a truly terrible piece of play comes to pass in a football match that is so clumsy, so inept, so farcical that it almost becomes a thing of beauty.
Well we have another entry into that ever growing list with North Carolina FC and Charleston Battery serving up some very entertaining incompetence in the dying moments of their US Soccer League tie.
North Carolina hilariously scuppered numerous efforts for a winning goal in the 97th minute of the game, and even the commentators could not contain their laughter such was the comic nature of their attempts:
