Amber Barrett wrote herself into Irish footballing history after coming off the bench to seal a spot at next year's World Cup. A fitting touch that the goal that secured Ireland's win came from a Donegal native, a county in mourning after the recent tragedy in Creeslough.
With social media blowing up in support of Vera Pauw's side, someone took the time to edit Barrett's second half strike into a video of 'Reeling In The Years' Italia 90 song.

Like Barrett's goal, it's just perfect. During Ireland's run to the World Cup quarterfinals back in 1990, they beat Romania and drew against the likes of England, the Netherlands and Egypt on their way to the final eight, leading to widespread joy across the country
Jack Charlton's army gave the country plenty to shout about during the summer of 1990 and Irish fans will be hoping that this Irish Women's National Team will be able to do the same when they travel to Australia next summer.
The original video from 'Reeling in the Years' can be seen here, with There She Goes' by The La's track kicking in during that famous David O'Leary penalty

A fitting tribute to the legendary Irish side and to Hamilton himself, who was on commentary for RTÉ last night during Ireland's win over Scotland.
This edited video of Amber Barrett's goal is a fantastic piece of work, that somehow even takes the historic moment to another level.
