There are few certainties in life but Rangers v Celtic drumming up drama is most definitely one of them. Last night proved no different with a drama-packed match in the Scottish Women's Premier League, tensions boiling over during the post-match commotion and police now investigating.

Last night's Old Firm Derby in the Scottish Women's premier league saw a cracker of a game. Rangers put themselves ahead just after the half-hour mark and held that lead the whole way through to ninety minutes, but Irish-qualified fullback-turned-striker Caitlin Hayes of Celtic delivered injury-time drama, bagging an equaliser in the 99th minute and salvaging a point from the encounter for the Hoops.

While a win for Rangers would've seen them leap-frog their Glasgow rivals in the table but the injury time drama means Celtic maintain second place and a slim one-point lead on Rangers as the season nears an end.

Despite the joyous finish and celebrations from Celtic the drama didn't stop there and emotions began to spill over after the final whistle. As Celtic manager Fran Alonso congratulated his players, an animated Rangers assistant coach Craig McPherson appears to head-butt Alonso from behind. The head-butt comes out of absolutely nowhere with Alonso blissfully unaware of what was about to happen.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Celtic manager Alonso said he was called a 'little rat' by McPherson.

I never talk to him the whole game

I was called Little Rat.

I don't wish him to be banned or suspended. It is not something you want to see but for me it is not a big issue

According to a Police Scotland spokesperson, they are now investigating the issue, 'We have received a report regarding an incident at Broadwood Stadium on the evening of Monday, 27 March, 2023. Enquiries to establish any criminality are at an early stage.

Would it really be an Old Firm Derby without drama at the end and a tinge of animosity?
