It was a very different story in the first half, but the Liverpool supporters at Anfield were certainly enjoying themselves by the end of their clash against Everton this afternoon.
The game would finish in a 2-0 victory for Jurgen Klopp's side, with goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi ensuring that they kept pace with Manchester City in the title race.
While there was little doubt about the result by the end of the game, that was not the case for much of the contest.
Everton would have a paltry 17% possession at the final whistle, although in truth they showed very little interest in retaining the ball at any stage of the contest. Their main focus was wasting as much time as possible, frustrating the opposition and sucking the life out of the crowd in the process.
Two players in particular got on the nerve of the Liverpool fans. Richarlison went down injured for no apparent reason on a number of occasions, something that caused an altercation between the two sets of players just before the interval.
Then you had Jordan Pickford. Not only did he take an absolute age over each goal kick, but the England international also fell over every time he got the ball into his hands. As Everton saw out the first half, he even threw a wink towards the sideline as the boos rained down.
Jordan Pickford enjoyed that half...

Shockingly, many of these antics seemed to suddenly disappear from their performance after they found themselves behind. Despite this, they rarely threatened the Liverpool goal.
In fact, Alisson Becker even found the time to throw a dig at his opposite number near the end of the game.
After saving a routine shot in injury time, the Brazilian fell to the ground in the same dramatic manner that Pickford had done on a number of occasions.

It drew a cheer from the stands that almost rivalled the two goals.
It certainly wasn't the most subtle of actions, with Alisson and his teammates having the last laugh after Everton's antics throughout much of the game.
Unsurprisingly, the Liverpool supporters absolutely loved the whole thing.
For all of the amazing things Alisson has done at Liverpool, taking the piss out of Jordan Pickford in the middle of a Merseyside derby is probably the best of them. #LIVEVE

Alisson copying Jordan Pickford and falling to his knees is the greatest thing we've ever seen.

Massive roar for Alisson who drops to the ground mimicking Pickford's earlier time wasting after collecting a routine cross.

Alisson fully taking the piss out of Pickford might be the moment of the match 😂😂

One of my better half-time predictions. That said, it always feels like a Divock Origi type of day when it's Everton. Brilliant win, and the highlight was Alisson falling on the ball at the end to waste time like Pickford did. Diaz and Origi changed the game. https://t.co/mXwo7Rcp5S

Liverpool's attentions will now quickly turn to the Champions League, where they face Villarreal in their semi-final first leg on Wednesday night. They will then travel to take on Newcastle in Saturday's early kick-off.
As for Everton, they will host Chelsea in a tricky clash next weekend. We will probably see a bit less time wasting from Pickford in that one.
