With the January transfer window a matter of days away, speculation around potential moves has already gone into overdrive.
Liverpool have already conducted one bit of business, with Takumi Minamino joining on January 1st. With that deal done, it is one of his Red Bull Salzburg teammates that will dominate the headlines in the coming days.
Erling Haaland is at the centre of a transfer saga involving a number of major European clubs, with Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Juventus. The player is thought to have a €20million release which makes him a real bargain.
It has been rumoured that the player favours a move to Old Trafford. He previously worked with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, while he lived in England for a time when his father Alfie was a player.
The rumour mill went into overdrive earlier today when it was reported that Haaland had left Norwegian airport Stavanger on a flight bound for Manchester. Solskjaer was even asked about it in his press conference this afternoon, although he claimed to know nothing about it.
Well... he's not coming to Manchester. I know the boy and I know his friends and he's on a Christmas holiday. You can't fly anywhere from Stavanger, you need to go via via!
Alfie Haaland, the player's father and former Leeds United and Manchester City player, soon took to Twitter to poke further fun at the idea.
Haaland was at the airport, but not on his way to England. He sent a tweet to Stig Nilssen, the Norwegian journalist who originally broke the story, telling him to guess again as to where his son was heading.
Come on @StigNilssen Have another guess😁 pic.twitter.com/YZedQUD2TX

This certainly does not mean that Haaland won't end up at Old Trafford, but it appears as though the uncertainty surrounding his future will last a few more days at least.
