Alexis Sanchez was an absolute disaster at Manchester United. From the moment he arrived at the club there was a sense that the transfer was a mistake and that became more and more obvious as time progressed.
By the time this summer came around, it was clear he needed to leave the club. It took a while to find a suitor despite United's best efforts.
Ultimately he would follow Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan. While Lukaku got things going right away at the San Siro, it has taken a bit longer for Sanchez to find his feet.
He made his first start for the club this evening, and it was an eventful full debut to say the least. He scored the opening goal of the game against Sampdoria, with Stefano Sensi's strike deflecting off the Chilean to beat the goalkeeper.
😂 Does this count as Alexis Sanchez's first goal for Inter?

His second of the game soon followed, with Sanchez showing some clever movement to get in behind the defence before finishing well.
⚽ The first one might have been fortunate, but there's no doubting this is Alexis Sanchez's goal!

His evening would come to a premature end, however.
Having been booked in the opening period, Sanchez would be sent off just two minutes into the second half. He was given a second yellow card, this time for diving.
He certainly can't argue with the decision.

While it may have ended on a sour note, this was an impressive showing from the forward. Despite only being in Milan for a matter of weeks he already looks more comfortable that he ever did in Manchester.
He is not the example of such a change in fortunes. The likes of Memphis Depay and Angel Di Maria have looked vastly improved after leaving Old Trafford, further evidence of the problems at the club.
