The Linesman Had To Tell Alberto Moreno How To Take A Thrown In At Anfield Today

Sky dispensed with the Red Monday marketing ploy for Liverpool/United this time around, and rightly so: today's game proved to be all kinds of beige.

United did not have the ambition to win the game, while Liverpool didn't have the quality to do so.

Among the most notable things from the game was the fact that the linesman had to instruct Liverpool left-back Alberto Moreno on how to take a throw-in. (Yep, it was indeed that bad).

The game had earlier been besmirched by a foul throw from Matteo Darmian of United in front of the Main Stand at Anfield, so evidently the linesman on the opposite side of the field, in front of the newly-named Kenny Dalglish Stand, did not want a similar stain left on the game.

So when Alberto Moreno ambled over to take a throw-in just before the hour mark, the microphone on the side of the pitch picked up his instructions to the Liverpool full-back.

Keep the ball behind your head, behind your head.

So there you have it, the highlight from the Biggest Game In English Football. It was still better than last year's though, right?
