While he may not be the most universally loved analyst ever to appear on Match Of The Day, Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer's form since making his twitter debut has been exceptional.
It started with a brilliantly self-derisory tweet about that shocking advert that nobody likes, and it has continued to be a surprisingly funny account to follow ever since. Nobody would have thought Shearer would take to Twitter like he has, but his recent shout out to Peter Crouch for being his record of Premier League headed goals is as good as you can get within 140 characters.
Congratulations @petercrouch on beating my record for headed goals ???? Keep going for another 11 seasons you might break the other one ??

Take a bow son.
To be fair to Crouchy, he took the jibe without feeling the need to try and be funny back, which is all we would have asked of him. The monkey-covering-eyes emoji was also a nice touch.
.@alanshearer thank you only 100 more to go ?

He's got some way to go before he reaches Jason McAteer talking to Didi Hamman about Jenna Jameson levels of twitter comedy, but he's made a strong start.
