In the early hours of Sunday morning in Mexico, Alan Pulido was kidnapped by armed men after leaving a party in his home city of Ciudad Victoria.
This morning, in a joint operation between federal and state forces, Pulido was freed.

Pulido, a Mexican international with six caps also plays for Greek side Olympiacos. He was part of his country's squad for the 2014 World Cup.
After leaving the party, Pulido's car was reportedly surrounded by trucks and he was then taken away by six masked men while his girlfriend was left in the vehicle.
On Twitter after the kidnapping, Olympiacos has wished for Pulido's safe return.
