Sunderland are on course for something that has been exceptionally rare this season; a win.

Travelling to promotion-hopefuls Derby County, Chris Coleman's side took an early lead through an atrocious Craig Forsyth own-goal.

Doubling that tally thanks to a wonderful solo-effort by the Manchester United academy product, Ashley Fletcher, Gary Rowett's side did pull one back through Matěj Vydra.

Taking a 2-1 lead into the break, Sunderland were handed a big boost when Lynden Gooch was fairly mercilessly fouled in the box, giving relegation-threatened Sunderland a priceless penalty.

Up step Aiden McGeady.

The Irish international hasn't had the greatest time since joining the Black Cats, but he was clearly the man trusted with converting on a horribly wet night in Derby.

Despite Scott Carson's best efforts at playing mind-games with the former Celtic man, McGeady buried the ball beyond him before he could move.
