Aiden McGeady started and finished the only goal between Sunderland and Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.
The finish was one not usually seen from by winger. McGeady picked up possession in his own half and spread the play wide. The ball would end up at the feet of Adam Matthews who played a perfect cross towards the penalty spot.
Having continued his run into the box, McGeady lept to meet Matthews's cross with a brilliant header. It was the Ireland international's fifth goal of the season for Sunderland.
📈 That was goal number 5⃣ for Aiden McGeady and his first since 14 October against @QPR, with @grabbs22 (12) the only player to score more for #SAFC this season.

It was also a vital goal for a Sunderland side struggling to claw itself from the relegation mire.
