Aiden McGeady is pushing hard for inclusion from the start against Wales in a month. Robbie Brady is unavailable, meaning there is a spot up for grabs, and McGeady is showing no signs of falling out of the rich vein of form he has hit for Preston North End.
Preston won again today, coming from behind to beat QPR 2-1 at Deepdale. Jordan Hugill's winner was assisted by Daryl Horgan, capitalising on the platform afforded to them by McGeady's peach of an equaliser on the stroke of half-time. Another Irish player earned an assist for McGeady's goal: Greg Cunningham, although chances are Cunningham won't be celebrating that assist with too much exuberance, for this goal is all McGeady. McGeady's has created seven goals this season, and chipped in with four of his own. Preston, hoisted by their strong Irish contingent, are flying: they are up to eighth in the Championship, six points outside of the playoffs.
