There were some emotional scenes in the Europa League tonight, as Portuguese side Braga earned a memorable win over Marseille thanks to a late goal from Alan.
The first goal of the night however was far more significant, at least to Egyptian striker Ahmed Hassan, who mourned the passing of his father this week.
Having shown great strength to put his emotions to one side and play for his team, when he opened the scoring with a marvelous piece of skill on the hour mark, he broke down in tears as he pointed to the skies in celebration.
It was a lovely goal, and it would have meant the world to him.
Fair play to you Ahmed Hassan.
