Sergio Aguero is facing a minimum three-game ban after being sent off late on against Chelsea for a horrific lunge on David Luiz. Earlier in the game, the Brazilian had nudged the striker off the ball while he was heading towards goal. But there's a little more history to it than that.
How bad was it? This bad.
The Aguero Tackle: Part 1
Aguero knocks the ball ahead of him and takes a glance up at the nearest defender. It's Luiz, who incidentally has he eyes completely on the ball.
The Tackle: Part 2
Luiz hacks it away, again with his eyes on the ball. Again, Aguero's looking straight at the defender and his studs come up at knee height.
The Tackle: Part 3
Bosh! Right in the hamstring.
Those with a good memory will recall that this isn't the first time Aguero has gone studs up on poor David Luiz. Two seasons ago, Chelsea and City were meeting at the Etihad in the FA Cup. Luiz won the ball, and Aguero jumped into his ass.
The City star is likely to be charged for dangerous play.
Viewers were not impressed with the tackle.
If Diego Costa did what Aguero did today, the whole football world would call for his head...
