The top witch doctor in Ghana (didn't think I'd be typing that today) is claiming responsibility for Cristiano Ronaldo's latest knee injury and by God he might actually have a point.

Ronaldo is a serious doubt for Portugal's first World Cup game due to tendinitis in his knee but Nana Kwaku Bonsam – or 'Devil of Wednesday' in English – says that they is no cure for the injury because it is one which has been created spiritually.

The Guardian quote him as saying:

I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him.

I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam.

He claims that he said four months ago that he would 'work' on Ronaldo to make sure he misses Portugal's last group game against Ghana and now his efforts are coming to fruition.

Bonsam added that 'Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.'

Turns out he really did say would injure him. As far back as last December in fact.

The Ronaldo thing I can understand but what had he got against Wednesday?
