A rather ridiculous quote has come out of the AC Milan camp this weekend, and CEO Adriano Galliani is the culprit.
Earlier today Geoffrey Kondogbia completed a mega-money move to Inter Milan, and the French midfielder rejected AC in the process. Rather than admit that they lost out to a rival in the transfer market, Galliani has come up with a spectacularly ridiculous quote to attempt to look on the brightside of the situation.
Keep in mind that Jackson Martinez is also one of Milan's prime transfer targets this summer, and it now looks as thought he too is going to reject Milan.
Galliani: "If we save €40m from Kondogbia and €35m from Jackson, then we'll have €75m to spend wisely in the rest of the transfer window."

So rather than buy the two players the club has identified as solutions to their ongoing problems, they have managed to "save" the money they didn't spend to buy players that they deemed less important.
Clever. Galliani can also enjoy spending the £200m he won't be spending on Cristiano Ronaldo this summer too.
Both AC and Inter are desperate to regain their status as one of Europe's biggest clubs, but after a couple of disastrous years in the transfer market, it will be a big task for either of them to usurp Juve from their Serie A throne.
