Originally scheduled to be for a full season, Adnan Januzaj's loan move from Man Utd to Borussia Dortmund was cut short during the week.

Utd recalled the player due to a lack of games. He made 12 appearances for Dortmund, starting just three of those.

All six of his appearances in the league were as a substitute and he had not featured at all for the Bundesliga side in nearly a month.

Thomas Tuchel, the Dortmund manager, spoke to Bild regarding the 20-year-old's time with his team.

Tuchel lamented the lack of 'desire' shown by the Belgian while also relating his belief that Januzaj's head was always turned to Old Trafford.

It is a pity he did not show the desire and attitude you need to progress at his age.

My feeling was that he never was completely with us, that a part of him always stayed in Manchester and he compared everything here with United.

We were not able to help him to shake that off.

Given Louis van Gaal's comments in November about how he warned Januzaj about making the move to the Westfalenstadion, it would appear that the midfielder actually wanted the move to Germany. That makes it all the more strange to hear Tuchel's feelings about how 'he was never completely with us.'
