French broadcaster TF1 premiered a new documentary on Wednesday about France's victory at last year's World Cup.
In 'Second Star', Adil Rami, who was an unused French squad member during the tournament, tells of an exchange he had with Croatian president Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović following the final.
Grabar-Kitarović was present for the World Cup trophy presentation along with Russian president Vladimir Putin and French president Emmanuel Macron.
The 33-year-old Rami - who has played in France, Spain and Italy - suffered a moment of geographical confusion.
"After the World Cup Final, the president of Croatia looked at me and said ‘nice moustache,’" revealed Rami.
And I told her, ‘I love Mykonos’. I don’t know why but I’ve always confused Greece and Croatia.
She said ‘thank you’ and she left.
Olivier Giroud soon informed Rami about his error.
"Then, Olivier looks at me and says: ‘Are you stupid? Mykonos is Greece.’"
