Adidas are at it again.
Not content with ditching the Predators and F50s in favour of the modernised Ace and X boots which you see all over every televised football pitch, the German sportswear giant are once again trying to innovate with their new boots for 2016.
One of our favourite things about the Predator was the tongue strap that kept the laces covered, but that won't be a problem for the Adidas Ace GTI 16 because they don't have laces at all...
Mesut seems delighted anyway, as does the lad James.
The blackout design is definitely making a comeback as consumers are moving away from the bright colours that have dominated recent seasons, and it's a trend we are fully behind. These things look seriously cool.
Expect to see these on the feet of Adidas endorsed pros such as Ozil, Oscar, Ivan Rakitic, Juan Mata, and many more very soon, and expect a general release closer to the new year.
While we are a fan of these, there's a lot to be said for pulling a Benoit Assou-Ekotto and rocking the 2002 Predator Manias.
