Secure in employment with Benfica, Adel Taarabt felt now the right time to speak about his mostly miserable QPR career.
In an interview with The Sun, the Moroccan spoke highly of former QPR manager Mark Hughes, praising the Welsh man's professional demeanour. Sacking Hughes, Taarabt said, was the club's biggest mistake.
Harry Redknapp took over from Hughes and the midfielder had nothing positive to say about the 68-year-old's time in charge.
After that, Redknapp came and he had experience. But I don’t think he has the passion for the game like people think.
Harry is not a bad person but he is a very bad coach and, for me, a very bad manager.
Taarabt claims that Redknapp felt the team was already doomed for relegation at the start of last season.
When I came for pre-season I told Harry Redknapp to his face, ‘This team is going down’.
He said the same thing as me . . . that he agreed with me.
I told him straight away and it was not because the players were shit.
